How it works

Four steps from booking to accepted return

You always know the status of your return. Every step happens in the client portal, not over email or text.

  1. Book your appointment

Pick a service, a time, and whether you want to meet in the office, on video, or by phone.

  2. Upload documents securely

Use the encrypted portal and follow the checklist for your filing type.

  3. Review with your preparer

We go over the draft return with you, answer questions, and make any changes.

  4. Sign, e-file, and track

Sign Form 8879 electronically. We e-file and confirm when the IRS accepts it.

Services & pricing

Choose the service that fits your return

These are starting prices to give you an idea, not fixed prices. More documents mean more forms, so your final price depends on your paperwork. You get a written quote before any work begins.

Each additional W-2 is $20. Other forms, such as 1099s and 1098s, are priced when we review your documents. Married filing jointly and other filing statuses are quoted. Businesses with more than $250,000 in revenue must bring complete bookkeeping records, or add a bookkeeping and payroll session. Florida has no personal income tax. Returns for other states are quoted separately. Prices do not include the e-file transmission fee.

January 2027

1099 filing · IRS IRIS system

1099s now file through IRIS. We handle it for you.

The IRS is retiring its older FIRE system. For filing season 2027, information returns such as 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, and 1099-INT go through the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS).

Jan 1

IRIS-only filing, 2027

IRIS becomes the only IRS system for electronic information returns, including current-year, prior-year, and corrected returns.

10+

E-file threshold

If you file 10 or more information returns in a calendar year (all types combined, including W-2s), you must file them electronically.

$2,000

New 1099-NEC / MISC threshold

For payments made in 2026, the reporting threshold for 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC rose from $600 to $2,000.

100

Records per portal submission

The IRIS Taxpayer Portal takes up to 100 returns at a time, typed in or uploaded as CSV. Bigger batches go through the IRIS A2A software channel.

Step 1 · Before January

Send us your payee list

Upload a Form W-9 for every contractor, with legal name, TIN, and address. We check TINs to avoid IRS mismatch notices.

Step 2 · By mid-January

Confirm what you paid

Export your 2026 contractor payments from QuickBooks or send your ledger. We flag anyone paid $2,000 or more.

Step 3 · By Feb 1, 2027

We file through IRIS

We transmit your 1099-NECs under our IRIS Transmitter Control Code (TCC), send recipient copies, and save the IRS acknowledgment in your portal.

    Frequently asked questions

When is my 2026 return due?

Most individual returns for tax year 2026 are due Thursday, April 15, 2027. An extension (Form 4868) gives you until October 15, 2027 to file, but any tax you owe is still due April 15.

Do I have to file my 1099s electronically?

Yes, if you file 10 or more information returns in total, including W-2s. Starting in 2027, IRIS is the IRS’s only system for e-filing them. We can file them for you.

    Is my information safe?

Documents go only through our encrypted client portal, which requires multi-factor sign-in. We keep a written information security plan, as federal law requires of tax preparers.

How much will my return cost?

Returns start at $149 for Single or Widow(er) with one W-2, and $250 for Head of Household with one W-2. Each extra W-2 adds $20. Schedule C starts at $299, or $399 at $200,000 or more in gross receipts. Corporate returns start at $399 under $250,000 in revenue, $699 from $250,000 to $499,999, and $1,099 at $500,000 or more. More forms mean a higher price, so we give you a written quote before we start work.
